A new blogging software called Chyrp has just been released.

It’s designed to be simpler and more lightweight than WordPress. It is also built on MySQL and PHP and additionally uses some AJAX. According to their blog it has about 1/4 the loading time that WordPress has. It sounds like it still has a lot of bugs but I think it’s a step in the right direction toward blogging software – simple. Oh, and I like the bird.
